CREW Atlanta Awards Two Scholarships
This year, CREW Atlanta is celebrating its thirty-five-year anniversary. At the celebratory gala, a silent auction was held to raise money for charity and The Diane Cox Scholarship was awarded to two outstanding applicants. The scholarship is in its inaugural year and honors the late Diane Cox, a commercial real estate pioneer, founding member of CREW Atlanta, and dedicated advocate of helping others.
There were many exceptional applicants for The Diane Cox Scholarship and choosing the recipients was no small task. The inaugural scholarship winners, Erica Goldman and Meghan Ryan Gordon, were true standouts amongst fellow entrants.
Erica Goldman is a proven leader in various commercial real estate and academic organizations and has been a member of CREW Atlanta since 2015. She currently serves on the UCREW subcommittee, which introduces college students to opportunities in commercial real estate. Erica attends Emory University’s Goizueta Business School and is pursuing a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and Real Estate. Her academic pursuits have allowed her to delve into her passion for real estate and study the links between the finance structure of development and the development itself. Erica is also an award winning collegiate athlete, earning three NCAA Division III All American honors in Varsity Track and Field. Currently, Erica is an Incoming Commercial Real Estate Summer Financial Analyst with Wells Fargo. As she continues to develop and thrive in her career, she encourages other young women to network and look for mentors in organizations like CREW to provide guidance and industry knowledge.
Meghan Ryan Gordon is on the CREW Planning Committee, assisting the group with organizing programs that are both educational and engaging. She possesses a strong work ethic and an understanding of the various challenges and opportunities within the Commercial Real Estate industry. Meghan attends Georgia State University. She is pursuing both a Juris Doctor degree and a Masters in Tax and is performing at the top half of her class in Georgia State University’s College of Law. Meghan has received many academic honors including the Dean’s Scholarship and the 2017 Best Oralist Jessup Regional Compromis. Currently, Meghan is a real estate Law Clerk with DLA Piper LLP. As she further pursues her educational and career goals, she is dedicated to advocacy for her clients and developing the necessary business knowledge to best serve their interests.
Both of these young women have gone above and beyond to become active and involved contributors in the Commercial Real Estate industry, all the while, continuing their academic pursuits. Through their hard work, determination, and pursuit of excellence, they undoubtedly exemplify CREW’s dedication to elevating women in business development, leadership development, industry research and career outreach. Congratulations to these phenomenal recipients!
