CREW Atlanta: What made you decide to work in the field you are in?
Jodi Borges-Bradley: I really enjoy connecting with people and problem solving. Design was a creative outlet for both joys that also grew into a heightened level of being strategic and mentoring.
How do you think your profession may change in the next 10-20 years?
It is already changing with the large amount of graphic tools used market and envision spaces in three dimension right after initial planning stages. It does take a keen eye and swift planning skills to design engaging environments that are functional and grab the clients from the start.
When and how did you join CREW?
I was fortunate enough to be strongly encouraged to join the organization in 2007. After becoming a member, I immediately became connected with a committee and have been pushing the turbo experience pedal ever since. Looking back over the past 11 years of my involvement, the life long connections made and amazing professional and personal growth, it has been and still is THE BEST DECISION EVER.
Jacksonville, Florida is where I was born, however Atlanta will always feel like home.
Blessed with LOTS – Husband, Royce. Daughter, Norah (14); Son, Hudson (8), Bonus Son, Aiden (15), and Bonus daughter, Avery (12). Amazing parents with all three of my grandparents living in separate houses on the same street in Lawrenceville. Plus several close friends that might as well be family too.
If you had to pick a different job, what would it be?
With my first career as classical ballet dancer and current as commercial interior designer…I’ve got a few other interests under my hat for the future! You never know what exciting opportunity might be ahead!
Craziest job you ever had?
Day care teacher in an infant room.
Tell us one thing people might be surprised to know about you.
I’m NOT a thrill seeker at all. My bucket list items DO NOT include skydiving, parasailing, rock climbing, etc. Heights aren’t the issue – falling definitely is a NO GO.
If you were a brand, what would your personal slogan be?
CONNECT. DEVELOP. INSPIRE. Passionate about connecting dots and creating a strategic vision.
If you could have a freeway billboard sign with any content you wanted on it, what would it say?
I would utilize my personal slogan with several creative fonts. It would probably be all neutral colors and very graphic.
Hobbies/interests? What do you do to relieve stress?
Experiencing any performing arts makes me smile – ballet, symphony, Broadway shows, stand up comedy, concerts – definitely YES. I love flowers and floral arranging. As for a perfect stress reliever for me – definitely laughing with close friends and kickboxing.
Other than your career, what other skill would you like to develop most in life?
Learning how to garden.
